Chaps,

What wheels will fit a 525e E28? I'm crap at decoding PCD's and all that, can someone tell me what will fit and what will need adaptor rings please?

Many Thanks

The PCD on all 5 stud BMW's (modern, at least) is 5x120.

The stock wheels were around an offset of ET 20.

E28, E34 and E38 wheels will all go straight on.

My personal favourite is the 16" cross-spoke off an E38 (7 series).

What size of tyre will the 15" BBS cross spokes need not to foul in the arches?

15" cross spoke will fit fine with the 225/60s that are on e34s but look a bit balloony on an e28. Get the e38 16" bbs like matey said and fit 205/55 for a good look.

These are 16x8j et20 e38 wheels, sorry the pic isnt the best.

Top man!

I'm looking at e28's to replace my e39. Don't ask but i've always fancied an e28.

What's the best non-M car? and do they run on normal unleaded without having to use an additive? smile

They're fine on unleaded so don't worry about that.

The best that isn't the M5? The M535i, or 535i SE if you can find one.

Having said that, the 528i in manual form isn't slow...

Just be very aware that any really good example is no longer going to be a 'cheap' proposition. Far from it...

The last two that I did both cost over £5K in remedial works...and that was from a starting point of what appeared to be pretty good cars.

They are the silver and the black ones on the left in this link:

Not sure about that indented and discoloured foam, or did you leave it alone for the sake of authenticity wink

Both lovely cars, i'm not wanting a show car, just a snotter for kicking about when i've not got anything else, the e39 i've got just now is too good for that.

My old E28 has recently come back onto the market here - :clicky: - it's the green 528i.

If you're interested in it let me know - I can tell you all the history that the guy selling it now doesn't know!

Looks quite smart, but £1500 seems a bit strong, no?

Depends how you look at it - it's a solid car that's in good nick overall, needs nothing doing to it.

On the flip side, the guy selling it cannot verify the mileage and the service history book is incomplete.

Also, I know what I sold it for 18 months ago, which means it's very cheap biggrin

You should easily be able to haggle him down to closer to a grand.

scratchchin

I'd have to bin the steering wheel that's on it, a nice Alpina 4-spoke would look great. cool

Well a 3.5 is off the cards, just had a quote for insurance. £1100 was the cheapest! eek

My e39 is less than £500!

Wow! That's ridiculous insurance. Have you asked on a classic policy?

I'll do too many miles for a classic policy, no garage, lives on the street and a colourful driving history.

The old 528 is £468 full comp. confused
