So had my first tattoo last weekend. It's something i've wanted to do for around 10-12 years so it feels great finally jumping in. Travelled down to the tattoo workshop in brighton (thoroughly nice guys).

The piece is taken from a snowboard graphic by pro snowboarder/artist Danny Larsen..it's one of my all time favourite snowboards i've owned and ridden.

I've known I wanted it as a tattoo for a good two years, and am incredibly pleased with Jed Harwoods rendition of it...it's absolutely spot on to the original.

A few of my peers cast me raised eyebrows when i mentioned chest as a first tat, having been through it I can see why...it hurt like a bd, especially up at the top towards my neck/collarbones.

It took 3 hours all in, and I was probably about spent after 2 and a half, the last 20-30 mins was a bit of a trial of endurance. But, I did it all in one sitting, no tapping out, just got on with it...teeth gritted!

Slightly off to the left?

the photo makes it look off centre, I can assure you the design is central (depending on where you decide to take the centreline, it is after all, an existing artwork, not something that has been designed specifically as a chest tattoo).

Might be that your right breast is redder than the left. Must have smarted a bit.

Yeah painful is the word...and that image has been filtered...the actual one is waaaaay redder!

TBH i'm glad i went chest as my first tattoo, having nothing to compare the pain to was probably a blessing.

on the up side, it's healing nicely, and i didn't bleed much at all during or after.

I also have chest as opposed to back tattoo.

I can look at it without use of multiple mirrors.

That looks great.

I can also agree that chest pain indeed sucks.

I really want a piece by Kate McKay Gill, her animal work is insane, she's got a really unusual style. Worth a Google!!

st, you've got me, it's the reincarnated imagining of the Yorkshire terrier we had as a family pet when I was a kid...that dog fking hated me, and now he will sit on my chest forever, randomly attacking people, eating soap, and chewing up PlayStation discs.

In other news...

I've seen this popping up this week. Not really my thing usually, but looks bloody amazing.

She has a great body and now she's completely ruined it for the rest of time. Pity.
yep, stunning artwork, stunning body, fantastic skill - but a real shame IMHO, reminds me of Cheryl Cole in terms of the effect, although this is much nicer art
