From honest john:
Today’s auctioneer monologue was punctuated by the primeval roars of supercar engines starting, sounding like the prehistoric creatures they have all suddenly become.

LEX let almost all of its cars go, except for the Audi A5 2.7TDI and the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Jardine, on the other hand, played its provisional cards close to its chest, only allowing the hammer to fall on one Aston Martin V8 Vantage, sold for £44,000.

The 97R F550 may have been an example of one of the finest Ferraris ever built, but not the best example. Eleven ownerships, an unwarranted mileage and a shiny steering wheel left bidders nervous enough to start at just £15,000. But its decent service history including a 2006 cambelt change saw some more competitive nods and raised eyebrows and it finally sold for £26,800.

A pair of leggy 06 Lexus LS430s were cheap, but, having missed the 116k miler sold for £7,550, a bidder fought hard to land the 136k miler for £7,300.

To me, dearest car of the auction was a 33k mile 2004/53 Toyota Yaris 1.3 T4 5-door that eventually sold for a whopping £3,475.

Big cars may be dead, but there’s still money in the right small cars

confused

Surely if a service history can be described as "decent", then it equates to a warranty on the mileage?

If it didn't, it's not 'decent'.

You have got to be kidding.
Thought it's official name was 550M rather than F550?

Either way it's a bargain - wonder how much Hammond paid for Metcalf's old "big red Fiat" with nearly double the mileage?

The above caught my eye, especially the Maserati and the 997. Cheapest I've yet seen.
