I've been keeping an eye on caterham availability/prices, nearly bought many times but as usual something else comes up that warrants my hard earned, now back in a position to buy again and I notice that the availability is really poor, not much on blatchat or on here, 6 months ago there was 8pages on here now there's only 3, also prices don't seem to be as low, very suprised, if anything i would have thought prices would be lower, can understand people hanging onto them right now but this seems a dramatic shift, any thoughts or advice on where else to look?

The odd few come up on ebay. You could try Autotrader but you are looking the right places.

Keep browsing Blatchat and Pistonheads to see what comes up.

Yeah I am, just very suprised how there seems to be about 50% less choice than there was 6 months or so back

Depends on your budget and requirements. Stick a Wanted advert on Blatchat and see if someone who hasn't advertised his car, is thinking of parting.

Anyone trying to sell a Caterham at this stage of the year knows that they are going to get a good kicking on the price. So many will hold off until mid to late spring before trying to sell. You might see some going up for sale in January/February when the self employed have to pay tax bills and the down turn has left them short of funds.

But Piston heads seems to be the best place to look.
