csl induction system
Discussion
yes you can, but..............
the mapping would have to be changed to whats known as alpha N type mapping. the reason for this is that with the csl airbox, you will have to do away with the original airmass sensor. so the engine ecu will have to calculate engine load via other sensors.
hope this helps

The reason nobody has done it is because it costs thousands for very little hp gain. I would suggest an exhaust and or a Gruppe M induction kit if it's noise you're after.

This is what i have done to mine , but dont be fooled into think it will sound as good as a CSL as it will not !!Chris

Bad luck chaps. My E36 Evo sounds as good as a CSL with just a Dave F induction kit
I would very nearly agree with that. It's not as hard as the CSL noise but it's a great sound nontheless! Love mine! Couple it with a scorpion back box and.... voila(go to about 7 mins 30 ish for good outside noises!)

I have run on my previous M3 - a Dave F, Gruppe M and a Hamann Racing full Carbon Airbox which is similar to a CSL's; unlike the two previous which basically offer only a shield around a K&N filter and neither the Dave F or Gruppe M delivered a noise anywhere near to that of a CSL's. The Hamann Racing carbon airbox however was much better and very similar to the audible assault the CSL gives. Size matters!
