Hi All,

the time hs come for me to sell my 325 CI, I have loved the car but an Exige and now a Range Rover says it must go.

I just need some help to identify what I should price it at, Im looking at Parkers to get an idea of reasale price and it shows Private Good at £ 9370, Poor at £ 7170, this is based on a X reg 2000 with 50 K Miles.

Im just not sure on how Time of the year, Current Finance Climate etc should be effecting what the asking price is.

I dont have to sell yet so do CI get much better money nearer the Summer ?

Thanks for any advise I can get

Go and look at the market. See similar cars to yours and see how much they are up for. Then you will have a better idea.

Got to say I think Parkers is rather optimistic there. Have a look at what other similar cars are going for, but the higher of the two quoted values there is 53 reg Ci Sport territory.

I suspect the car in question is a cabrio which is obviously worth more than a Coupe hence the values given.

Below average condition: £5040

You'll get bids of about £5k if you are lucky.

Not again. Bids? He wants to sell his car privately! He's not selling it to a guy in a sheepskin coat who sucks air through his teeth. A private sale 325Ci Cabriolet with reasonable mileage is worth more than £5k.

The cheapest 325Ci Cabrio on all of Autotrader has 140,000 miles and is still almost £6k.

I look forward to the insults you have in store for me in your reply smile

Read his post and show me where he says that he wants to sell privately.

He quotes parkers PRIVATE sale values not the trade ones, says he wants to SELL his car (ie not trade it in) and also says he is prepared to wait until the Summer to sell it if it means he gets more money for it.

I ask you, are they the words of somebody who intends to sell his car for cash to a member of the motor trade?

I suggest he waits until summer then. I am going to be looking for a car in the new year and i'll be fked if glasses, parkers or anyone else is going to dictate what i want to bid for it. Like it or lump it, its a buyers market out there and if recent experience is to go by, there will always be someone more depserate to sell.

Wait til summer if is not an urgent sale. You might get a bit more for it being a convertible and having nicer weather.
