Evening all - found myself wondering what the best wheels are for an e34. What does everyone reckon?

My vote is BBS like the below from Google Image search (BBS LMs I think?). For some reason I just love this pic cloud9

I like and I'm a stickler for originality yes

Still love the old BBS x-spokes though or even them but in the 17" split rim variety from the 850CSi

Out of the ones originally fitted, the 17" throwing stars. I like the 18" M-Parallels but think they're slightly too big for the car.

I have seen a few on style 32s now, though, and they look lovely (the one in this photo needs to be lowered, but it's apparent that they suit the car):

ETA - I'm not sure they're staggered on that one; here's a better pic:

Another vote for Throwing Stars. Had them on my previous 540 touring smile

You can't beat the M Paralel on a 5 (E34 or E39). One of the best OEM wheels produced IMHO.

I'm not so much a fan of adding later wheels to earlier cars.

In no particular order, my favourites are:

So discrete, and the brake cooling effect is just genius - as is the impression of there being white wall tyres. The last discrete M car?

The later M5 wheels were lovely.

As were the final M5 wheels.

The 17 inch cross spokes also rock - such beautiful wheels:

I think they were OEM (possibly an option) on the 8 series and 540. I also remember seeing them on early model e39s.

It's funny that they look so large and they are 17s. If you see 17s on some modern cars they look tiny.

Amusingly, the 17" cross spokes are from a later BMW, of course... wink

I'm the same though - if the wheels are from the wrong era they often look wrong on the car. Oddly the style 32s seem to work, to me; I used to think they looked a bit old-fashioned for the E39, as I did with the cross-spokes, while the 18" M-Parallels look a bit modern for the E34.

I agree with all of Ecurie Ecosse's selection's!

And that black car with those wheels on looks simply stunning! Gonna have that on my desk-top!

Hmmm....I need to get working! scratchchin I think it should be ready by mid-February!

Oops - I stand corrected!

I have a vague memory of seeing an e34 with them on back in the mid 90s though.....

There were quite a few E34s with 16" cross spokes, and the 535i Sport had the metric cross spokes which were closer to 16.5" I think. But the 17" ones which look like they're from that era actually appeared on the 8-series and then E39, unless anyone knows better?
