Apparently there were 9 350 SX's made, if we are talking about the supercharged specials see here www.pistonheads.com/tvr/wedges/specials.htm
I'm sure the big bad wedge people on here will put you straight on what to look for in a genuine example

Mike

I have just bought an old 1988 copy of Fastlane from Ebay primarily for a road test of the 420 SEAC, but it also has a test of the 350 SX.

It compares well in the article with a 390SE tested earlier and is particularly rated for its mid range grunt in the overtaking type scenarios. It was no faster than a 390SE, in fact if memory serves me it was still down a few on BHP, top speed and 0-60.

By the end of the article however, I couldn't help but think why not just get a 390SE anyway! The only plus points I could see would be rarity value, the whine of the supercharger (if you like that sort of thing) and an interesting car to talk about with other TVR owners.

Interested to know what price is being asked, as there are several 390's for sale in Sprint this month, but at the end of the day if it seems like good value, go for it. It's a great wedge and I just think they're all fantastic!

Cheers and good luck
Steve

Is it a 350 or 400 bodied car. I was told by the chaps at the Sports & Specialist Car centre that there was only ever the show car of the latter made, so if it is take car to ensure it's the original as aftermarket supercharging(S/C) of the RV8 is not as straight forward as people make out.
However, the 350 SX is a lovely rare car. I remember having a look over TVR 355 X at Team Central back in the early 90's - loverly.
Talk to Brian Luti at the TVR dealership in Calander (Scotland)as I understand he was heavily involved or might have been the person responsible for the conversions. He's currently S/Cing a T350c (or he was when I last spoke to him!)

Is it a mint green colour and lives in Blackpool???

If it is the car is in fantastic condition, I have read the reviews about the perfomance not being as good as 390, and I can agree the intial acceleration is no different to my 350i, but from there on WOW....

I bought my 280 from David Haughin in 1990 and after we closed the deal on that he took me out in a light green SX. Now I'd driven a few TVRs before but that car was truly frightening as we approached a junction on one of the main roads heading out of Barrow at shall we say a 3 figure speed and a lorry pulled out in front of us... I will never forget David saying "sh*t, the brakes are fading!". I'd still buy one though but I suspect Mrs D would object to 3 wedges in the garage!

John Beveridge, one of the previous owners of my 390, used to have the car serviced by Haughins. One time they lent John a 350SX during some extended work. He said it was about as quick as the 390 but 'in a different way': he found the supercharger noise a pain on a long drive.
Folk with big piles of 'Sprint's can find my car as the centre-spread sometime in about '97, when John won the 'Back Home' photo competition....

nThe horses mouth! I own a 350SX and have since I bought it new from David Haughin in 1989. I will never sell it as it is the most fantastic car. Mine has done 78,000 miles and the conversion has never caused any trouble at all. I also hava hlf completed register of all the SX's so I know a little about all of them and I'm happy to answer any queries
