I think im going to need a new clutch soon, ive noticed it slipping now and again when pressing on.

Any ideas of how much a fitted clutch is for a 2000 530d

(its remapped which could be why its started to slip)

its only done it a few time, I was going up a really steep hill it was floored in 3rd doing about 65-70 and the traction control flicked on so i asume the car thought the wheels were moving, and im pretty sure the clutch slipped.

£400ish?
Get it done before it eats the flywheel too.

I not sure if a slipping clutch would trigger TC. TC works by comparing the speeds at all the wheels, not at the engine.
You could prove this by dipping the clutch slightly when accelerating and see if TC comes on (which i doubt it would)

Ill try that. I turned off the traciton control to have a play the other day, ive not had a rear drive car before, but im sure it was the clutch slipping and not the wheels spinning, because when i took my foot off the accelerator it lept forward still?

I call mr clutch in cardiff £299 fitted with warranty and vat.

incase it does die

I tried dripping the clutch when accelerating, it doesnt seem to slip at all.

you mean the TC light didn't come on?
FWIW, in the 540 under accleration even at high speed i can get the TC light to come on in the current road conditions.
