Can ant one tell me the Lucas ref number for the throttle pot, Ive re wired mine be the tracks did look the worse for wear and I defaced some of the part number when removing th tapper poofing, hence the question. Has anyone purchased one recently Rimmers quote 220 on their website which seems a bit pricey.

3 screw fitting one on 1984 350i. Try Landranger Services in Middlewich, Newton le Willows and Stockport(not 100% sure about the Stockport one)

Or is it a play on 'trigger' calling 'rodders' 'dave' all the time on 'Only fools-' .
Yep the one I fitted was a two slotted screw type not a three one, so no good to thee.

Incase you can't find a cheap option, I think V8 developments (01775 750000) do an adapter kit to use the later 2 screw type on the older 3 screw fitments.

I have been looking for a 3 hole one for a while. All I could find was a 2 hole with an adapter - for £200+

A complete ripp-off IMHO.

I fixed mine, but it is starting to play up again - so if you do find a source, please let me know

I've spoken to a nice man at Rimmers how assures me that the SDI pot they supply is the Range Rover pot ( 2 hole)with an adaptor plate (Should be gold plated for £150), So I'm going to look at a std RR pot with a view to making my own adaptor plate / modifing the existing spacer plate. will let you know how I get on.

I've had a look at the two hole type & their nothing like the one Ive got hence the need for a complicated
adaptor (a bit more involved than I was expecting not least as their both male spindles).

Danny can you read the Lucas part number off your unit
I think the number you gave me is the rimmer ref number

If the spindle is the same, you could drill and tap 2 new fixing holes, to accept the later 2 hole throttle pot, you wont be able to get the holes totally horizontal and one will have to be on the edge of the casting, but hopefully you can adjust the slots on the throttle pot enough, i remember doing this but can't remember whether i also changed the spindle.

There is a slotted hole in the throttle pot. I assume this is to allow setting up - but how??? I can't find any mention of how to set it up in the bible. Anybody know what to look for or how to do it??

Multimeter between green and yellow wire-adjust pot on slot untill reading is about 300mV (ensure 0.002" gap top and bottom on butterfly valve first).
Suggest you mark the original position just in case though!
