So I'm interested in buying an old landrover series 2 or 3 to help with the gardening and because I have always wanted one.

I only have about £600 to spend. What will I get for that?

Thanks

You say "to help with the gardening" if you mean you only need it for offroad then I think you wont have a problem finding one at that budget, but if you need it taxed and tested then your going to struggle to find a good one at that money. If your looking for a tax exempt one then think again because your end up with a very ropey one for £600 with either chassis or bulkhead problems.

Thanks for the reply - there is a bit more in the pot but not masses. I'll go and look at a few and then re-assess things

Take someone with you who knows Series Land Rovers. Whereabouts in Herts are you?

If you don't need to go on the road with it, I've got an old and very tatty Series 2 88" which I want to get rid of. It runs and drives, but it's not registered and has holes in the chassis. But most of it works, and the engine (2.25 petrol) seems good, so with a clean up it'd be fine for running around on private land. £150 would be enough for it, let me know if you're interested! You'd have to collect it on a trailer of course.
