Well with over 2500 posts from the 2008 season, it's about time we started a new topic.

Series 1 - Formula BMW mod on UK circuits. (January to March)

Points System: 1st = 20, 2nd = 15, 3rd = 12, 4th = 10, 5th = 8, 6th = 6, 7th = 4, 8th = 3, 9th = 2 & 10th = 1. Pole Position = 1 & Fastest Lap = 1

http://www.mercia.biz/mj/2009%20Season/PH%20FBMW%2...

Racing will be on Sunday evenings and we will continue with the two sprint race format, with the second race a reverse grid of race 1 finishing positions.

So pick your car, and get some practice in - if it is half as good as the trial race at Donington it's going to be the best series yet.

If your new to rFactor and fancy joining some close clean racing, drop me a PM.

Series 2 will be the Touring Car Legends Mod ( April to June)

Points System: 1st = 15, 2nd = 12, 3rd = 10, 4th = 8, 5th = 6, 6th = 5, 7th = 4, 8th = 3, 9th = 2 & 10th = 1. Pole Position = 1, Leading a Lap = 1 & Fastest Lap = 1

Racing will be on Sunday evenings and we will change to three sprint race format, with the second and third race a reverse grid of the previous finishing positions.

Series 3 will be the CGST Wold Sportscar Championship ( August to October)

Points System: 1st = 20, 2nd = 15, 3rd = 12, 4th = 10, 5th = 8, 6th = 6, 7th = 4, 8th = 3, 9th = 2 & 10th = 1. Pole Position = 1, Leading a Lap = 1 & Fastest Lap = 1

Racing will be on Sunday evenings and we will revert back to a two race format, with the second race a reverse grid of the previous finishing positions.

http://www.mercia.biz/mj/2009%20Season/PH%20CGST%2...

Allowed Cars:
P3000 class
Alfa Tipo 33
Ferrari 312p
Healey
Matra MS650
Porsche 908-2 (not the 908-3)

S5000 class
Lola T70
Ford GT40

Perhaps a special at the end using the 917's

Series 4 will be the PCC GB 2009 Mod on UK traks( October to December)

Points System: 1st = 10, 2nd = 8, 3rd = 6, 4th = 5, 5th = 4, 6th = 3, 7th = 2, 8th = 1. Pole Position = 1, Leading a Lap = 1 & Fastest Lap = 1

Racing will be on Sunday evenings and a two race format, the second race a reverse grid of the previous finishing positions.

Sucess Ballast of 100kg, 85kg and 70kg added to race 2 for vehicles finishing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectivly in race 1.

I dont know if I will be racing on the 11th but I will do my best, if I am I will have no practice at all (and will have just traveled for 14hrs from Russia)
Im not sure what car I will use, probably the uglyest one so im not clashing with anybody else.

I hope we will get some new drivers this year and that everybody from the 08 season is racing in 09 biggrin

Can you put anything on the PH front page to advertise the series?
I would like to see a bigger grid and im sure the server will handle more cars biggrin

As its going to be a 12 week series I would like to propose that each driver be allowed to drop there worst 2 weekends results, this will allow everybody to miss two weeks racing and still compete in the championship. So 12 weekeds on racing with your best 10 weekend point scores to count towards the champoinship.

I think its better to drop entire weekends (combined points scored from both races) rather than 4 individual races as this will give less advantage to anybody who manages to do all the races.

I assume this will completely mess up MJ's nice scoring website.

The server should cope with perhaps 32 cars, but:
  1. Not all tracks have sufficient grid slots or garage space
  2. Frame rates will take a huge hit
  3. Editing the grid order for race 2 would take ages!
16 drivers is probably a more realistic figure.

Looks like we will have 2 new drivers for this season. We may need to up the server to 16, but I can sort this out within 1/2 hour. Let's see how the first weekend pans out.

Mark - Just sent the money via paypal. I'll install the mod later and see what car I fancy - but I'm not that bothered so feel free to pick for me.

Hi guys,
As tempted as I am to start this season, my hardware issues may soon be over, with the arrival of a desktop PC to strip down and make into a project. TBH I might aswell wait until I've got that running with some decent graphics before I try to race, nothing worse than lag hitting you at the most inconvenient times.

Have a good season, and I'll be back soon! nuts

Well I just tucked some money into the server.

Will have a dabble with the championship but I cannot commit to every weekend due to shift work commitments. Will be good just to have a reliable server to thrash around on with some good natured drivers.

Plus also I'm not sure I'll cut the mustard to be honest hehe

Anyone got a good setup for Knockhill, or any advice on setups for the FBMW's? I find it really understeery.

Set a 55.something lap, but feel I could go much quicker than that
