Mazda Specialist in the Midlands?

Ali, my dad lives just down the road from you and he is looking for somewhere too. He went to a Mazda dealer (think it was in Acocks Green) for a cambelt change and they were an absolute shower.
He has been recommended a place in Nuneaton that does roofs (not sure if it's the same place as above) as he needs one doing.
IIRC there is a specialist in Telford.

She needs a service, & there is a 'dicky' speedo thingy, which is intermittent
Been told need a new one from Maxda, they want £500 for the service & to fix it 
So I'm looking for a place to service her, other than Mazda - I'm not taking her to the local service station as they broke the last one!
Spoken to the guy in Nuneaton, he said he would need her for a 'few days' to find the cause of the speedo problem, and that it woudl 'cost' me,
wheras Mazda have run the diagnostics (as the engine managment light came on so we dropped her in there) and just said that I need a new cable thing...But I'd prefer not to pay Mazda prices

AG has a bad reputation - the one in L'Spa is great tho 
There is a fab guy in Cov for roofs - Tony I went to see him to learn how to take the roof down/backup on this one

Not sure what the 'dicky' speedo thingy is as you haven't elaborated.....but, if you have a check engine light that's a 2001+ model and they didn't have a speedo cable, rather a pick-up off the gearbox. A 5 minute job to replace if it is faulty. Used ones should be plentiful as well. It works, then it doesn't work.As Phil said I'd suspect the speedo sensor in the Gearbox. (I have a spare one in stock) or its possibly just a dodgy connection.
I service MX5's too but love a challenge when a weird fault occurs.
I recently fixed a supercharged car in ten minutes that Mazcare messed about with for days and the owner hadn't been able to drive it for a year ! He was so fed up I even told him if I couldn't fix it, I wouldn't charge him a penny.
I'm happy to extend that offer to your speedo fault too.

I find it strange that people desire a stamp.
Considering you can buy any design you want for around £20 on Ebay I hope people actually call the garages rather than rely on a stamp in a service book.
What you should prefer is a detailed reciept with a company name and phone number on it. The reason main dealers stamp books is because co.s pay the bill and most new car drivers wouldn't ever see the actual bill. Not the case on 99% of MX5's I suspect.
However if people particularly want a stamp I could get one but with the majority of cars I see, the book is missing or already full.
