Bought an S2000 n hour ago.
Discussion
Hi,
yesterday i posted a thread about the Boxster etc. I was dead set on buying one. But as scared of its reliabilty. I test drove one and wasn't to my liking.
This morning i bought an S2000 off my mate. 04 Plate, Black with red interior and 32k miles. Looks the dogs danglies...
I think it will do me fine for a bit. A lot of car for 11.5k.
Anyone here have one? Any advice? I gather its a bit twitchy in the wet..
Now i need just need to sell the E320 CDi and the A4...

Did you see the auction thread from a few weeks back:

This 08 S2000 only made £13,700 (provisional admitedly, wonder what they took for it in the end)

IMVHO opinion, even if the car is mint, you have paid about 1-2k too much. But at least you know the history and how the car has been looked after I guess.

What is it with Pistonheads and peoples clear joy in pissing on the OP's fire.
Great car the S2000 and hope it gives you many happy days motoring.
Happens on the renaultsport forum a lot, or it did until the management made it quite clear it wasn't on.Great car the S2000 and hope it gives you many happy days motoring.
Congratulations on the new car, i've always liked the S2000.
nice car, always liked them, just too impractical for me as a daily driver...
have a similar engine (mines only 1.8) in my celica and i love it - driving 'normally' and it's jsut a normal car with normal mpg - stick yuor foot down and the car transforms into something else.
love the high revving of it too, mine is good for over 90 in 3rd - now some argue that the gear ratio's are too long, but when you pull out at 40 to overtake you dont need to worry about changing gear for a while

Nice car and good colour combo - gobsmacked at 14k for an 08 though What is happening to the world?
I wanted one originally, insurance costs for me killed that idea - and the fact that I didnt trust myself not to wrap it around a tree. Ended up with a Z4, not quite so raw but great fun.
Enjoy it and dont worry about the price, it may be a little over the odds but I bet well worth it in your eyes, congrats.
Would like to see some pics!

Enjoy the S2000, it's a great allrounder.
Main thing to remember is that it's a powerful RWD car and make appropriate allowances. They are only twitchy if you don't take that into account. The signals that the car is losing grip at the back are subtle so spend time getting used to them.

That doesn't look right to me - an 08 with those wheels? Aren't they the wheels from the very first generation?http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
