Hi all. Welcome to the first auction report of the New Year and boy was it a busy one!

All of those mince pies and selection boxes over Christmas sent the sugar rushing to the trade buyers' heads and it was 'Buy, buy buy!' all round. The amount of cars which I have shown below showing as 'provisional' is not representative of the sale as a whole; most cars did sell.

All four lanes were running, so I did my best to pop between them and grab info about the best cars.

Coming up soon

Next week, on Tuesday 13th January, they are holding a 200+ car sale on behalf of Toyota/Lexus. So if you're after some nice Jap metal, it may be a sale for you.

Also, don't forget the next Prestige Sale on Tuesday 10th February. Whether you just fancy window-shopping or taking advantage of some very competitive prices for top-end cars, it promises to be a great auction. So that fellow PHers can have a nerdy natter at the same time, would be good for those
attending to have a huddle round a few strong teas; if you're coming but don't know anyone, drop me a
line nearer the time and I'll sort out arranging a 'mini-meet'.

So, onto today's results. As always, I have tried to capture as broad a selection without disappearing into Nissan Notes etc.

To save repeated questions, car prices are marked as:

1. SOLD - you pay this price plus a buyer's premium of 4-5%.

2. Provisional - you are the highest bidder but haven't quite met the reserve. Manheim will try and broker a deal between you an the vendor (either you move up or the vendor moves down). You are bound to buy the car if the vendor moves his reserve down to your bid, but are not bound to offer any extra. (Plus buyer's premium as before)

3. Submit Highest Bid (SMB) - The vendor has not left a reserve but has asked the auction house to submit the highest bid to him for his consideration. You are bound to buy the car if your highest bid is accepted. (Plus buyer's premium as before)

Here we go......

2006 56 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Coupe. 26k. £16,500 SOLD

2004 54 Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 SE Geartronic. 44k. £10,100 SOLD

What private buyers can do to auction prices... this car has a trade of £4,400 and a retail of £5,600. May be a slight premium for the 'best' colour? But...

again another good write up. I have been to afew uctions this week and everything seemed to be welling, well except for smaller cars as there just weren't any there. Do you know a good auction to go to in order to pick up a 3 year old small car, polo if possible. Toying with the VW group sale at blackbushe on friday but don't know if it will be worth it

Holy poo! If that had been around for that price when I bought my T350 I'd have been converting to Pork pretty quickly. I know it's provisional but it's a bargain price for a 1 year old S.

That Cayman is a steal if it goes for anything near that.

What is the trade price on those at the moment?

Crikey. Lot of car for £9.5k

2007 07 Audi A4 1.8T Cabriolet. 11k. £11,400 provisional

Ditto. Always fancied one of these and £11400 with just over 10k miles is a steal.

2006 56 Renault Clio 197 2.0 16V Renaultsport. 17k. £7,800 SOLD

Also a steal. What's that - 50% off list in 2, nearly 3 years?

Bargains to be had. If I was in the market and had the bottle I'd be straight down there.

V8 - are a lot of these motors stters with crap spec or dodgy bodywork or is it really as good as it seems?

The red 350z looks quite nice, one of the first ones I have thought does. Is that a Nissan bodykit and wheel option?

Wow, awesome prices there !!

Stupid question from MoP, but what does provisional mean in terms of an auction? The car will sell at the price If the seller agrees as it is around a reserve or something?

Will there be an DB7 Volante type monsters at the 10 Feb Auction?
