Hey guys

I'm in the market for an L322 and was just wondering if people could give me some advice

I have seen a nice black 3.0 TD6 SE.... Now I know what your going to say 'no dont do it, not an SE' but its the right money and advert says its been specced to HSE level, with the mileage being reasonable to boot.

The only gripe I have is that it doesnt have built in satnav. I dont suppose anyone knows if this would be a fairly straight forward install should I get the chance in the future?

Its not a paramount requirement as I already have a mobile satnav but its just a nice added extra to have it fitted.

I dont suppose anyone knows the direct differences between the models either do they i.e SE to HSE to Vogue?

Thanks for your time

Phil

As with all Rangies, if you are happy with the spec, then fine - but a lower spec will affect your resale value further down the line. Especially as the car becomes older (Look at people buying P38s now - Unless it is a Vogue, then cars get dismissed)

I suspect the same will happen with L322's as they become older.

Would have thought the retrofit would be pretty expensive - you'd have to go with the older BMW units in one of those cars, so the 16:9 screen, DVD nav unit, CD changer, TV reciever and loom would cost about £1500 or so in parts from Ebay, then you'd have to gut the car to put it all in....

retro fit is not worth it to much to add and change, if you want sat nav by a vogue, then upgrade the sat nav because its crap or just buy a tom tom and thats another load of problems in the future you won't have to worry about...

hi,

xenons lights are standard on hse and vogues
leather are different grades on each model, think the vogue is oxford leather ??
vogues also have sunroofs
think its a 12 of 13 speaker stereo surround sound type system, also:
better alloys, folding mirrors, heated seats front and rear

thats all i can think of at the min, but they all drive nice.
i went for the vogue in the end, but could have got an SE 2 years newer for similar money, but the vogue just had all the right extras, plus the TV/sat nav/phone.

good luck with purchase, just make sure you get a diesel, unless you have deep pockets or lpg!!! smile

Doesn't make a lot of difference nowadays with the price disparity between derv and unleaded.

Agreed.
I test drove many TD6 and V8 (4.4 BMW), the V8 wins hands down on everything except MPG, but overall the cost/mile isn't that different so I went for a V8 petrol. It's a big heavy car and the diesel has to work pretty hard a lot of the time. I tested one LPG V8 and decided against it for the L322, despite my last 2 RRs being LPG.

I would probably have liked the V8 diesel but couldn't afford it so resisted test driving it!
