Had the great displeasure of seeing the following film last night

Eden Lake
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1020530/

Based in the midlands, sounds like Nottingham.

Basic plot:

Nice middle class couple spend the weekend at an idylic disused quarry.
Said couple get harrased by a bunch of hardcore chavs.

Cue one of the most horrificly violent films I've ever witnessed in a long, long time. It's not a great peice of film making but does provoke genuine emotion i.e. repulse and disgust smile

It's so bad it's worth watching.

I've seen it too. I thought it was ok actually but the victims are far too stupid. Basically every decision they made had me thinking - wtf are you doing you morons?

.
Lots of that was filmed at Frensham ponds in Surrey.

Irrelevant fact.

I thought it was a good film and really quite disturbing, even the OH thought it was grim and want's her younger sister to watch it, due to the whole peer pressure in it.

hehe. Us too. Much of 90min was spent shouting at the screen telling the dozy bint how much of a useless tw@t she was and that she deverved to die horribly.

It's $hit yes but worth watching as it's kind of unique. There aren't many gruesome slasher pics about based in a quarry in the midlands infested with murderous chavs. smile

First date material for sure thumbup

Sounds like the Survivors series recently shown, was a good watch but the characters were bloody stupid, no sense to some of their actions. They are being threatened by a gang trying to protect the supermarket of food, but they still go back to the same supermarket, without any weapons. Jesus, either go somewhere else or get tooled up ffs! Plus confronting that same gang who they know have shotguns etc without any weapons at all and in only one car so no backup to get away. It is ridiculous.
