Anyone bought a car from this garage? They have a 3.0 Z3 I quite fancy taking a look at but before I do has anyone had dealings with them good, bad or otherwise?

Well - on Soccer AM this morning on Sky 1, Brian Blessed gave them a plug, saying that they down tools whilst they watch the programme!

But that aside - yes, I purchased my Beemer from them. At the time, they sell at top of book price, and trade-in at bottom of book price - and will NOT negotiate on price, or throw in anything 'extra'. But that was ages ago - I'm sure with the market as it is at the mo that will have changed. I was interested in an Alfa V6 they had - but they would not haggle at all on it. So I gave up on that one.

I've not heard anything bad or negative about them locally - which I'm sure I would have done ... local 'word-of-mouth' spreads like wildfire around here. There are a few cars running locally which have been purchased from them.

I've never used them for servicing - so can't comment on that part.

But the Beemer has run fine ever since (other than standard E39 issues).

They used to run out of Addlestone and I have had numerous dealings with them. I can highly recommend them for service and quality. Its actually a shame they moved to Sunningdale frown

To be honest I did not go into the office in the end although a guy did come out to ask if I needed help. The car looks great but the front bumper is touching the bodywork on the drivers side and the rear bumper does not line up as well as I expected, also there appeared to be some overspray on the inside of the wheel arches and in a couple of the joins between the body panels. Maybe I am being a bit too fussy but it did not 'feel' right. If you have a spare 5 mins pop down and let me know what you think, there is only one Z3 in there at the moment so its not hard to find!

Won't get a chance in daylight until next weekend - but if I get 5 mins I'll pop up and have a look.

Thank you sir, I would value a 2nd (or third) opinion - at a glance the car looks great but when you get close there are one or two bits that look as if they have had attention - on the other hand maybe I am being a little fussy!

Have a look at where the front bumper meets the front wing on the drivers side, the rear wheel arches and the gaps between the bodywork and let me know what you think smile

Yeah - I'll bring £20.

They wouldn't accept that as a deposit on anything.

Would they?

2 guys I work with have both bought more than one car from Alexander David, and rate them highly (the company, and the cars for that matter).

I have spoken to a couple of people since the weekend that have had dealings with them, all rated them well (although they did pay good money for the cars) - main thing for me now is a second opinion in the Z3............?
