The drivers door electrics on my 2000 e39 530 sport have a fault which I think is related to the window/mirror switch.

The car got broken in to last weekend and while the glass guy replaced the passenger door window I asked him to remove the drivers door card for me so I could replace the speaker (which I thought had blown - turns out the stereo is on its last legs).

Unfortunately the guy was a complete monkey and pulled and yanked at everything, I didn't see everything he did but Im pretty sure he didn't disconnect the window/mirror switch and just tugged at the door card with it connected.

I now have the following problems:

- The switch panel does not illuminate
- The one touch up/down on the drivers window no longer works - although it does when using the same switch panel for the passenger window
- The drivers electric mirror does not work but the passenger mirror does
- The memory seat buttons are dead

I took the door card back off today in the hope of finding a plug disconnected or something simple but no joy. I tried to remove the window/mirror switch panel from the door card but it wont budge more than half way and then jambs and I cant get to the wiring plugs on it to disconnect it before I remove it, any tips on how to do this would be much appreciated, again I fear the glass monkey has messed with it.

Please give me your thoughts and tips with this, its driving me mad and Im seriously annoyed at the state my car is getting in to thanks to other peoples ham fisted work.

Thanks

Jez
I've checked all the fuses in the glove box and they seem fine.
