Does anyone know anything about these? I have checked their website and it's not very informative.

Any idea how much?

How quick?

Any photos??

I don't want to hassle them as I'm not in the market at the moment.

From what I have seen I think I'm going to have to get one....

They are curently converting my RR S/C to LPG. Give John a call at JE. He's on the front desk and will be able to answer all your questions as he lives and breaths LR's. Great guys all of them.

Thanks, I didn't really want to call as I don't like wasting peoples time but I'm sure they won't mind.

Their engines are fantastic - i have a 4.3 in my westfield and it takes loads of abuse has never let me down and doesn't use a drop of fluids.

The 'Zulu' conversion being discussed here uses the modern Jaguar Supercharged 4.2 V8 modded to 480bhp by JE. Not the venerable Rover lump. smile

Costs £34,000 plus donor. That is basic mechanical mods and any interior etc is ontop of that.

Lots of dosh admittedly but a bit more than 'basic' mechanical mods including installing (modded) new motor, transmission of choice, suspension, brakes and a small number of interior mods too. Worth it to see the look on the faces of the GTi brigade alone I reckon!

Aside from a "must have obsession" with the Defender - why wouldnt you just buy a Full Fat Rangie - Supercharged - and chip it up - will still be a better all-round proposition than a Defender sureley (Comfort, Dynamics, ergonomics, re-sale and probably 99% as good if not better off-road)- and you could have it done, with a similar power ouput for the price of just the mods to the defender?

Looking back on it maybe 'basic' was not the best choice of words!!! HAHAHHA I have spent some time with JE and this thing is insane......I am very close to puting a signature on the bottom of the order form and transforming my 90......that wheel base whould be fun with 460bhp!

Totally agree with you......but this has sooooo much more 'character' than a Range, Range Rovers don't make me laugh but this does! But then again anyone who is willing to spend this money on the Defender will probably have a few other machines in the fleet so will excuse the inherent dynamic flaws of the Defender and just bring it out to play with.

Yep. Spot on. My 'fleet' (pompous word I always think but you know what I mean) changes with the weather but I've had my 90 for seven years now and will NEVER part with it. Use it all the time for short hops to the shops etc., especially while the lanes are covered in crap at this time of the year, but also use it for longer trecks down to the West Country etc., with piles of holiday clobber in the back. Love it. TBO if you have to ask 'why not get a Rangie' then you're missing the point. I've got an X5 as everyday wheels (similar to a Rangie I guess) and it's a completely different car and bought for entirely different reasons. smile I do like pulling up at one of our fave posh hotels with all the Bentleys etc., and chucking the doorman the keys. The old girl out poses everything!
