In the early 80's my brother won a Vauxhall Astra in a Daily Mail competition. Loverly car and he sold it quickly and made a fortune. Nice.

I've won a few things, nothing particularly big though.

Recently, I won a limited edition signed print from an artist I'd never heard of through the Metro newspaper and an Autoglym valet's pack both through online comps.

My 'best' would be 2 return flights to Helsinki again through the Metro. The only problem was I was almost skint at the time and couldn't really afford the weekend away. Still went though. biggrin

Bad news Soovy, the pube was one of Peters.
I came second in a beauty contest, I wish it was a lie.

A day with Lewis Hamilton being driven around Goodwood in a Merc SLR. Plus given Sparco overalls and helmet, signed by Lewis. Then went off to the McLaren Factory for a tour.

A trip to see Jeffery Lewis at the Maida Vale studios a few years ago when he played live on a John Peel show.

First time I met Jeff, done that many times since but it will remain special as its the only time I ever met John Peel.

And there's me think KP would have been "Brazilian styled",

I wonder how many men tried them on before posting them out as a prize...
