Has anyone ever had one? Someone mentioned them on another forum I go on, and they sound intriguing....

Seems like someone has managed to create an advert for their psychology product on Wikipedia.

I did it at school (which was the best part of 20 years ago, of course) but can't remember what profile I was. You're very welcome for my insightful contribution to this thread, it was my pleasure hehe

My son took this recently... he took the adult version as he's almost 20, but the student version is aimed at Y11/12

It was outstandingly accurate. He was a bit 'lost' having not completed his A-Levels, started a couple of other paths but only half-heartedly and was stuck in a sort of rut.

It really helped him understand his inherrent skills and attributes and look at career paths that suited both his strengths AND his interests...

The test took about 3 1/2 hours, as well as a pre-test interests and personal preferences questionaire - the report was really interesting and very detailed - it gave some really good indications of his strengths - which helped a lot because he hasn't got qualifications or experience to back all that up yet.

I was pretty sceptical but I am very convinced now, being his mum I know his strength areas and can see how he could potentially use them but he needed to see it for himself.

If you want to know more drop me a mail. I might even be able to show you a copy of the report if he's ok with that, you'll be able to tell if it's the sort of thing you need.

I think this is most useful for people between school and uni because it can help with decision making and planning, help make the right choices! although it does have some use for adults, especially looking for a career change.

Did you turn up in a gimp mask and ask for a go on his wife? That could have been the critical error you know.

Are you sure that is the Morrisby Test you took?. Their full test takes 3 1/2 hours + a support form. It is sat in examination condidions and then the forms have to go away to Morrisby to be processed.... takes them a few days to send it back. You then get a feedback interview to explain the results.

Morrisby also offer a very simplified version called Fast Tomato.

I would be surprised if it was this particular test. There are numerous psychometric tests around and some are way better than others.

No. I got a generic "profile" from the company. As I didn't get the job the whole thing was obviously flawed, so I chalked it down to experience & moved on.

Was some weird stuff in the "exam" though.

A colleague took one. We worked for a largish public company that spared no expense on this kind of stuff, so I assume it was the best available. Our chief exec was keen on getting the best of everything.

I saw this bloke's report and thought they'd given me the wrong person's assessment. Nothing, absoluteley nothing, was accurate about this guy.

That's what convinced me such tests are a load of tripe.

I did one in school about 12 years ago and found it again when I was clearing out paperwork at my parents over Christmas. Seems to have been fairly accurate and it's findings are consistent with the career I have now. Some of the job suggestions are a bit odd (leather technologist?) but the science/tech field is pretty diverse.

I guess it works better on school-age kids as they're less likely to try to fool the test by giving answers that they think it wants.
