OK.

The scenario: You need to buy a car to get to work. Urgently. You've only got a grand and you're going to have to view and collect it by BUS yikes

Yep; times are hard

Here's how to play:

- Go to Autotrader
- click advanced search
- set maximum price to 'up to £1,000'
- set Distance to - within 10 miles

Then, from the results, choose and post the ONE 'local bargain' of your choice, i.e. the one you'd choose to get you to work each day.
(extra points for having cash left over for tax, insurance, fuel etc. coke and hookers!)

Here's mine to start:

A bargain £677

Bending the rules slightly to use the same criteria but on PH brings up this...(though the 2 months of MOT would be a concern)

On that car, doesn't matter how few miles.

I didn't think of any conditions which would disqualify a competitor but I'm sure you've triggered them biggrin

Before you see what mine is, bear in mind I had 29 blistering examples of motorised freedom to choose from.

There was a V6 Mondeo at £995. But that leaves only £5 for "benefits", which would be hideous at that price.

So [drum roll puh-leaze] I present you with a . . . . 2000 Skoda Felicia 1.3 Classic Estate.

I didn't know they made an estate version of these things - do I get rarity points?

It's only £695. It's red. It's got a suitably grainy picture. And the Skoda badge on the bonnet appears to have been nicked or vandalised (honestly).

I must live in an expensive area for cars. Only get 27 cars which are mostly Escorts, Novas or Jap Carp. 1 Volvo and a very leggy C200 Estate.

Nothing like these handsome machines above.

Edited to say "I'm gonna spend the whole lot on hookers and coke and walk home"
