audi s4- which one??

well i need a decent estate car and weighing up the s4 but not sure which is best suited to me and things i need to be aware of when buying. in terms of performance i understand a remaped bi turbo is about the same as the latter v8 so which is better in reliabillity,running costs etc?

I should imagine that a properly remapped bi turbo would be quicker than the 4.2 V8, I'm happy to be corrected though.

I don't think either of them will be the cheapest cars in the world to maintain but turbo charged cars do need close maitenance and regularly oil changes to keep them running in tip top condition.

As it happens I was looking at the S4 market a year or so ago and an X reg bi turbo S4 (B5) with K04 turbos (450bhp) was up for £8k which I think is bloody good money.

Go with the V8 for sure, now days they are cheap as chips and you could get a late B6 circa £12K the servicing is suprisingly cheap, mine has been pretty bomb proof (I've had it for 57K) only draw back is petrol but then a 4.2 V8 is never going to win any eco awards.

You need to drive them both as they are very different animals

would love to drive both but in estate form they seem very thin on the ground near me at the moment. is there any known common probs with either i should be aware of when looking one over?
