A4 Quattro 3ltr Tdi Avant Auto S-line........Steering/Transmission Vibration

There's a mild but annoying vibration through the steering wheel, at least I think that's where I am feeling it through. It occurs between 50 & 60mph. I have had the wheels balanced, back and front, as suggested by an Audi forum (well, duh!). This has done nothing.

The car, which I bought for (what was) a song (in Aug 08!) is a 54 in absolutely beautiful condition, but has big holes in the SH; 120k miles and optional 18in'ers which are possibly not genuine Audi.

My local indy said they'd fixed it but hadn't. I dropped them and drove 150 miles to a Saturday morning appointment with another who couldn't be bothered to show up on time and, when he arrived 90 minutes later, told me "I've got lots of customers."

If you are reading this and recognise yourself, your customer relations skills need review and, while distance is not much of problem to me if I can find a sympathetic professional who speaks plainly and does what he or she says, you Pal wull no be gettin' yer mits on ma Beemer neither, aw right?

So what's wrong and who can fix it in Scotland.

If there none genuine wheels, they do tend to buckle, this could be your problem but i would have thought the guy who balanced the wheels should have checked this
