Alarming Troubles

My first 10 weeks of Tamora ownership have been a mixed bag really, the low point of which has been spending 5 of those weeks with courtesy cars (very kindly supplied by the dealer). However, back came the car from sunny Blackpool last week with a new head & gasket, to solve the Tamora Temperatures saga, & it ran like a dream - for 2 days & then the alarm seemed to want to get in on the act.

Has anybody got any ideas on this.

When you lock the car from the fob it locks, the lights flash, 3 secs go by & the indicators then come on & keep flashing! I have tried with windows up & down (in case of the door sensor playing up), inserting the 'alarm key' into the receptacle, pressing the fob with ignition on & off, checking the boot & doors are shut & following the memory clear function in the book of words, in case the flashing was an indication of a previous trigger. ALL TO NO AVAIL! The car immobilises OK, the doors & glass work fine, it locks & starts properly but if you lock it the car sits there & flashes at you.

All ideas gratefully received as usual.

Sounds like you need to get back to the dealer on that one!

The immobiliser on mine works fine, but I have yet to hear the alarm, even with the cat jumping in and out of the car whilst in the garage!

Mine only beeps when arming when one of the sensors is triggering. i.e. the windows/boot are open.
If the windows are going up and sealing when you close the door, then the door should be shut OK. Sometimes I need to re-shut the boot if I've forgotten to shut it properly.
If the boot and doors are properly shut, it sounds like one of the sensors is knackered or has come loose.
When you start the engine do you get any door open messages? If not it could be the boot that is at fault.

Hi Stonkn, I had a prob with my T350c,where i was unable to turn off the hazard lights which also affected my alarm.
The problem was caused by "chafing" of the ribbon wire behind the Dash,which was soon fixed by Castle TVR.
Tell your Dealer to check out the wiring behind the speedo

Thanks all,
I went through all the standard loops & checks & nothing helped. As a result the car resumed its position on the low loader where it has been a few times recently. Apparently it is the interface unit in the centre console & a 'known problem' at the factory.
