I know its Doom & Gloom time etc but the price's seem to be recovering ,or put it another way they are asking more for them than a few weeks back . There are about 180 E36 M3's being advertised on PH & they seem to be creeping up ,is it possible that most of the absolute crap has sold leaving the best of the bunch behind .........or just wishful thinking ?

Combination of wishful thinking and the exchange rate?

A few special LHD 911s have recently changed hands at increased values and gone back into to europe.

Why would the crap have sold but the good ones are left?

Maybe the more desperate have lowered prices and those not so depserate have hedl firm? Or maybe January has brought renewed optomism smile

I think a lot of people paniced and dumped their cars on the run up to Christmas.

I've been watching the E36s too, but it looks like the real cheap ones that were there a month or so ago are all still there.

Yes.

Now bore off. If you can't work out that "paniced" is so close to "panicked" as to obviously be what he meant, then I suggest you log off and write the internet off as "not for you".

Prices are definitely on the up. One reason is the popularity of Japanese collectors buying these cars for exports - these weren't sold new in Japan due to their new car regulations, and now the strong Yen makes them especially cheap. Every month hundreds of M3s and Z4Ms (especially Roadsters) leave these shores.

Pretty soon there'll be none left! beer

Not making this all up in an attempt to bolster Z4M values honestwhistle

Mikez, i voted conservative. It's you English that got mr doom and gloom into power, not me.

I've never heard that the Japs are exporting serious numbers of M cars, i find that hard to believe. There's only been a few hundred Z4Ms brought into the Uk and surely an export market would be really keeping the prices strong instead of the depreciation disaster they've been so far.

Also why do they want the Roadsters? Coupes rule! shoot

As e36 owner I'd like to think so, but I don't think its the case, look at ebay etc lately & follow a few cars through as I've done & its low low prices.

There are several very modified e36 track cars up at big price tags, however ive follwed a few for a coulpe of months & they keep price dropping yet still not selling.

There are loads of good low mileage M cars out there. A no brainer really. Nobody now wants a sub 20mpg car with Gp20 insurance & £400 pa Road Tax. It's excellent for those of us who can afford it though. Just vote BNP at your next elections to get shut of our Scottish "friends" who run this country to subsidise their Scottish & Welsh cronies.....

Mike ~ OP refers to E36 so sub 20 mpg and £400 road tax are wrong; if we are being pedantic that is. The political references are for some other forum surely. Commenting on Gizlaroc's typo WTF!!!!!

Anyway back to French's OP ~ 140 posts in recent thread 'M3 EVO - Brilliant' show how much E36s are rated by owners so hopefully the Evos relatively poor reputation in the press compared to E30 and E46 will disappear over time and values can recover to 'sensible' levels. Market value does appear slightly better since new year but IMHO still way off what owners think their cars are worth to them. Hope that makes sense.

You have disgraced yourself. Be subjective & objective. Your opinion is absolutely worthless when you denigrate yourself to gutter language. Call me a "Kunt"?

Perhaps your calling is as a Scottish Labour MP - called "Gorbals Mick" - the laughter of the House of Commons.
