My Cerb needs a new set of rear tyres, they are currently 255 40 ZR 17 S02's, any recommendations as to wether these are the best size to refit, or too wide.

I know that Bridgestone have stopped making SO2's, I have fitted SO3's before and was happy with their performance, any comments on wether it is ok to mix S03's with S02's, as the fronts still have plenty of wear left in them.

Ive got the same Set up on mine, S03 back and S02 front.

Sees fine and wear is good, also the tread patterns are fairly similar.

Also the S03 are a decent process c£125 each and wear slower than the equivalent Toyo.

If you look around you might be able to get some S0-2s. I know I saw some advertised somewhere a couple of months ago (sorry, don't remember where).

If you do find S02's make sure they are the "Pole Position" version. When I bought me Cerby it had non Pole Position S02's on the back. I was quite pleased with them when they were new but their performance in the wet was awful once they started to wear and boy did they wear once they started! Have replaced them with Toyo's which I would say wear better. The S02's ran about 7k miles. The Toyo's have done that and a track day, still have 6mm on them.
Previously had a set of S02 PP's on my Chim, they were really good even when 1/2 worn.

Cheers for the help chaps, been quoted £150 incl vat and fitting per tyre, not sure if that price is competitive?

In a bit of a dither at the mo, would like to upgrade my wheels to 18's, and given new tyres are required now I guess it would be a good time to do it.

Quite fancy something different to Spiders, has anyone on here gone for another option?

I'm a fan of the Technomagnesio Detroit F1s, but I've never seen any on a Cerb.

TBH my ideal wheels from a looks point of view would have many spokes. From a cleaning point of view, I wish you could get wheels with one spoke.

Others I like are the Oz Superleggera and the Speedline GT1. Some of the Radius ones are nice, and there's some fairly nice ones at www.bbsdirect.co.uk/ (LMs are expensive though!)

Edit: if you have an appropriately-coloured Cerb you could consider gold wheels
It would go nicely with gold badges (you can't tell I've come from a Subaru, can you? )
