I don't use my M Coupe (Z3) much so I put the stuttery steady driving down to lack of use as it generally got better the more I drove it. However, recently I have had to use it a lot and it hasn't gone away, in fact I think it's worse. It accelerates very well biggrin but on slow down and slow speeds and slow acceleration it has a slight hesitancy or stutter. Nothing showed up on the diagnostic last service, and the plugs have done less than 2000 miles. NGK iridium things.

Any ideas from you more experienced M owners, of what I could check rule out. The Vanos was replaced before I bought the car at about 50k. It's now done 65k.

Also crappy road surfaces really unsettle the suspension. TCA ball joints and bushes seem to be ok, what else should I look at?

cheers Z

I would be tempted to say that it could be the MAF http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CM92... and hoping that you can get it cheaper than that...

Get some electrical contact cleaner in an aerosol and give it a good dousing.
I have cleaning instructions if you want them, just not to hand right now.

Not your car but the principle still applies.

Used that link previously, and having cleaned my MAFs a few times, there is really no need to remove all the tubing, airboxes, etc. Just unscrew the MAF unit itself, and get yourself some CRC MAF cleaner or similar (contact cleaner should work too) that does not leave any residue and evaporates almost instantly after liberally spraying the MAF unit.
