2002 Defender rust!

I have a 1994 defender 300Tdi and am looking to replace this with aprox 2002 facelift model TD5. Looked at a Black limited edition yesterday wow could not beleive the corrosion this vehicle had details like the screws/bolts for the doors roll bar etc all red with rust,rear crossmember looked rusty as well as running boards and NAS bar all rusty and body seems showing signs as well!
Car started life in Scotland and my did it show my 1994 is not as rusty.
Dealer description was "excellent condition"!!!!! I did a 240ml trip to view vehicle for about 90 secs...........

Think yourself lucky-my 2007 is just starting to show the beginnings of surface rust in a few areas inc around the tow bar/under the bonnet etc.I wouldnt mind but it was kept in my garage throughout the worst of the weather last season and only has 10k miles on the clock.

Independant 4x4 specialist in LR. I did ask in detail about condition prior to travel but...... He is looking for top dollar for it as well.
Found a couple of private ads to follow up for this next weekend lets hope they are more honest!

My 2007 has similar problems and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Genolite?
Just thought I'd aske before spending
