Hi all,

Apparently Mrs Hammerhead's MX-5 needs a new nearside front brake caliper. Main dealer wants £250 odd notes + fitting for a new one. They don't offer new seal kit replacement or exchange units as I found out when I asked.

So, would an exhange caliper be the way forward & is DIY fitment easy enough on them? The last time I did this was on my '71 MGB!

Cheers smile

MX5 parts offer replacements at reasonable prices, fitting should be no more difficult than the MGB. Just the lower caliper mounting bolt to remove and the caliper slides off. Try www.miata.net for full details.

New, used, recon, seal kits and pistons are all available.

Massive variation in prices so shop around.

HH - when you sort the bits let me know; have done similar rebuilds on several cars, and have plenty of tools smile
