i'm looking to get an X6 35d in black with beige interior and dark bamboo trim.

bmw are doing a deal where new X6's ordered between now and 31/3/09 get free media and dynamic pack. this represents a cost saving of £5k.

I don't want new, i want nearly new, and current used prices do not reflect this deal on the new deals. my view is that X6's with 5- 8 k miles should be sub £40k by some way, but they're not.

an idea where i can source one for this sort of price (my view is should be around £35-£36k).

any private sellers?

I think i found the same car - just through BMW's AUC site... but strangely £1000 cheaper @ £37950

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_details/0,,1260...

I'd have to want the light interior A LOT to not buy this.

car is sold and it did not have the dynamic or media pack on it.

so this proves my point... with free packs they are giving away on new, this is the price level x6's should be at IMO.

looks like i'll have to wait a little longer!

The advertised price is only the start.
On that sort of car, I'd be making some offers that started well below asking price.

I bought my 35d in September and with those packs and a few other extras the cost was a few bob short of £60k. Most people who speced those packs would probbaly have added a few other options as well meaning that they spent between say £55k and £60k although the base price was £44.5k.

The earliest cars were May which was only 8 months ago and many cars would have been later so there would be very few people who wanted to crystalise a loss of 30% to 40% over such a short period. I am sure there are a few distressed sellers out there and I am sure that dealer bids will be in the region you are talking about. However you will need to be buying at "trade" values in my opinion to get what you are looking for at the moment.

Keep looking and I am sure something will turn up.

it had the dynamic pack listed as a standard feature, which was odd.

but i take your point about media pack
