A31 now; anyone know what's wrong?

My wife left home (Verwood) at 09:25 this morning, and is still less than half way along the A31 Eastbound.

Anyone know what the problem is? Just checked some reports on the net but can't find anything definitive.

Bournemouth Echo says that it is blocked both ways with Snow and stuck lorries!

Such a nightmare that road if there is a problem as there's nowhere to get off, so you just sit and wait. Got stuck there for hours once in a Granada Scorpio PX with no A/C on the hottest day of the year when someone rolled over towing a burger van. Crap everywhere....

My wife has just returned home. Three hours from Verwood to the end of the A31 and back. And what problems did she see?

None.

All she can think is that people were being too cautious and crawling up and down the hills. Westbound was fine.

Just numpties I guess.
