Ural denpr bikes. worth anything.
Discussion
was just talking to a mate about how I had one of those years ago and thought, "it would be wicked to have one now, completre with a sidecar and in mint condition!". had a look on ebay and they are offered at around 6-7k :O
is that really their price these days (a decent example) or is this just wishful thinking ont he seller's part?

thanks these are brand new though. i was thinking more in terms of a real 1950s model restored.would an actualy classic one be worth that much also?

Bit over the odds but certainly not that much over and if its a good one it could be worth that.
A new Ural outfit is not more that 8K...
I love them!!!!
I think they are beautiful but wouldn't want a modern one that looks retro. I would actually want a classic one for the authenticity factor.A new Ural outfit is not more that 8K...

There were a few knocking about Atyrau when I was working out in Kazakhstan. I did cross my mind whether I should try and get one home (along with a Gaz Volga and a couple Moskovitches).
I didn't know they had official dealers in the UK, sort of the Soviet era version of a Royal Enfield.

Trouble with new ones is right hand sidecars are illegal in the UK, so the firms that sell them here sell a modified version with a left hand side car that has some fancy chain drive system for the chair wheel which isn't as reliable as the shaft drive on the right hand version. Dunno where you stand with vintage ones though, and also don't really see why they should be illegal when LHD cars are fine.

bah so by the same logic, if the right hand sidecars on a vintage bike are illegal, surely the atrocious emissions non compliance should be illegal too. no?isee said:

Sidecars can be fitted to either side of bikes registered before 1981 so vintage bikes can have off-side sidecars.RizzoTheRat said:

Having spent the majority of my childhood journies in a sidecar, I'd have to say that I wouldn't fancy being in a right hand one!!black-k1 said:

The chair wheels on the UK versions are not driven. The older ones are and can be registered on UK roads if you want.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
