I bought a 2001 E39 M5 last year privately. When looking through the history I noted that it was imported privately into BMW Park Lane. Does this classify the Car as Imported for Insurance purpose's ? I am sure the first registration was a UK one

Thanks

Ins Co dont care if its an import or not, there just interested in the make/model and the usual proposal detail.

It would probably be classed as a "parrallel import"

There were quite a few BMWs imported over the last few years from europe because of the savings that could be made.

Shouldn't effect your insurance as it's a UK Spec car..

If you buy it cheap, why are you surprised they offer you less than the market value a few years later?
