i have recently aquired a set of front wheel bearings for my chim, from i might add an authorised tvr dealer. when i recieved the bearings and proceeded to fit them to my car i found that they were not th correct size, infact they were rattling around like a hula, i have sent them back for a refund of 49 quid and saw a bearing specialist who is ordering them direct from germany for a cost of 18 quid, when tvr where callenged about the wrong bearing they said it was and still is the only bearing used, when clearly it was notthanks for nothing.

why can't people just apologise when they're wrong? - today's culture eh! so much for a main dealer service stamp!

hope you get sorted out...

There is only one bearing mentioned in the parts list. The dealer is quite correct that it is the only bearing used. If that is not the same as yours then the wrong upright has been fitted at some point or it is a mistake with the bearing not being what it should be. If it is which I assume the dealer chceked, then the difference is with the car. These are handbuilt cars and parts variation is common.

Quite possible that someone has replaced the upright with the wrong one or that Ford supplied the wrong version to TVR.

Any supplier of spares can only ever give it's best guess. You can only ever get it 100% right if you have the old parts in your hand. If you want to get the right parts all you have to do it take the old ones out, get the numbers off the old bits and source them. It always works out much cheaper and saves everyone a lot of time and applies to most parts including wheel bearings. BTW, there is not a wheel bearing you need to go to Germany for.
Did you get as far as trying to fit them?
