Cupra stuck in 3rd!!!

I have a 51 plate seat Leon Cupra ( with an IHI turbo kit and quaife diff etc etc ) , but today as I came off a roundabout at speed and went to put it into 3rd there was a god awfaul crunch and that is now the only gear i have .
Even when in neutral its still in 3rd . The cables and shifter seem to be working fine but still 3rd is the gear in stuck in .
Rang the garage which does all my tuning and they said its most likly the selecter fork inside the box ( common problem apparently ) and im looking at around 12 hours labour and parts ( 700 notes ish )!!!!!!!
Has anyone else suffered this?? ( engine code is AUX and box is 02j i think )
