DAWN RAID TOMORROW? Sunday 15th Feb 7am Sandbanks Ferry?
Discussion
WIth a bright sunny morning like today, I feel motivated to go out for a drive tomorrow morning at sunrise.
Anyone else interested?
The roads will be quiet, and i can stay out of trouble with my wife by still getting back for DIY duties in the day.
I was thinking it would be nice to go accross on the Sandbanks Ferry to Purbeck, perhaps following the coast a bit with some nice views out to sea, then coming back round in a loop and being finished by about 10am.
Don't really know the roads well enough to plan a route, was just thinkning to meet at 7am, Sanbanks ferry and see how we go.
(it starts running at 7am and costs gbp3 to go accross)
I have to go and do my DIY for the day now, but if anyone is interested put your name down and I'll be back online this evening to see.

sorry RS - like Chris, i'd normally go for a spontaneous one, but it's a 'very late' tonight and ironically a run to mothers in harmans cross, purbeck, for afternoon tomorrow...long after 7am..! roads to swanage aren't that a brilliant drive, but from ferry road you could not take left turning to swanage and head up the hill for perfect sunrise view east over nat trust area, poole harbour, hengistbury and maybe i.o.w. in distance. keep on road and head towards wareham >1. bere regis, via long straight semi forest roads > dorchester/ blandford (via milborne saint andrew?, to get a decent long time on a354!)/ wimborne....
or >2. > wool > poxwell > osmington (turn off left to check view of weymouth bay...saw red arrows from up there once...awesome sight) >weymouth? > coast road to west bay? (good views + wicked hill climbs :-) ........
i'll put a dorset route together soon!

Sounds like a good idea. Will let you know either way by this evening.
Cool. A couple of M5's on the ferry accross Poole harbour at sunrise and a blast around some great empty roads would be a good start to the day...!!!In the famous last words.... 'ahm oot
should i shouldn't i????? !!!
tomorrow: bournemouth/poole locals/ anyone! needing 730/8am break-out for a few hours' dorset/wilts run in the morning??
cold weather on the return next week, so don't know when the next chance will be (better be 15th!) + was a blast on my short drive to work this morning!

Rich, i'm not sure now i've just been to swanage!
Some combination of roads with salisbury in the loop?
done many of these roads before so it'd more about being with as many like mindeds and their speed machines as possible (despite drop-it-&-go short notice!) taking it in turns to lead etc and maybe stopping if the views/food are good?? not a long run either...save that for 2 weeks time. Could do with about 5 cars though don't yar think? No takers yet on the text side though.
