Does anyone know how many RHD C4S 996s were sold in the UK?

I have an irrational love of these cars and am convinced that one day they will be a classic.
(Stop sniggering at the back biggrin )

However, I cannot locate any figures on interweb.......any ideas?

to judge by the number that were seen in the City during the model's life, I'd say that it outsold the entire production of Ford and Vauxhall combined.

The 996 4S is not a rare car. The 996 4S with manual transmission is quite rare. The 996 4S Cab with manual transmission is extremely rare.

yes

It's the manual one I was thinking of......do you ever think a cab will ever be that desirable with a manual box?

I have always believed, rightly or wrongly, that convertible Porkers get less desirable the older they get. Is this ideological or logical?

Thanks for the advice Zod

I think that could be because there is more to go wrong and lose value ("look and feel" of the roof eg).

I think you are right. They will be a true classic. If I were you I'd buy one quick before the prices shoot upwards.

On another matter my 996 C4S is for sale.....................

ETA : and it's a manual coupe

Nice wheels.....wrong colour for me though.....silver or grey is my preferred choice.

Just out of interest, what are you selling at?

I'm asking £24,995 but not had much interest. I am probably going to trade it in. It seems to be making £20k - £22k as a trade in.

That surprises me, I thought it was less. I guess far fewer 993 'S' made.

Amazing that theres three times as many 996 4S than 993's not even taking into account the Cabs.

No wonder the 993 wide bodies are the gods of anti-depreciation.

So what do you reckon is the ratio of tips to manuals?

993 Carrera Cpe(272/285)- 23127

993 Carrera S Cpe - 3714
993 Carrera 4 Cpe(272/285)- 4744
993 Carrera 4 Cab(272/285)- 2422
993 Carrea 4S Cpe - 6948
993 Targa -4538

996 Carrera Cpe(300/320)- 37756
996 Carrera Cab(300/320)- 31122
996 Carrera 4 Cpe(300/320)- 25286
996 Carrera 4 Cab(300/320)- 18822
996 C4S Cpe-17298
996 C4S Cab-5757
996 Targa- 2693

Interesting figures, I have a feeling the 997 production will be even higher. I really hope with the emergence of Panamera, the diesel Cayenne, the Junior Cayenne the marques does not become like Mercedes Benz.

997 figures higher?!
Your telling me...one year alone (2006) for the 997 was >30,000 units
Over production of these cars means lower residuals, and when money is tight the demand
falls off, with a glut of pre-owned cars sitting in dealers.
Porsche where always chasing that 100,000 unit figure that they recenly achieved....I think Porsche
have gone after a larger market share, much to the detriment of the overall Porsche 'experience'
that they as a company harp on so much about...

I didn't know they had built so many 997's already.
