Hi,

Anyone have first hand knowledge of these ?

I've had a look at their website (www.donkervoort.nl) but I'd appreciate views from anyone who's owned / driven / seen one.

TIA

BTW - Apologies in advance for the double post (this is in 'general' as well). I know that this contravenes the 'rules' but I'm new here and still finding my way around.

Not really a contravention of the rules as such.

I thought it might have got a few more replies on here.

Looks are 'different' and it's nice to have a slight variation from the 'Se7en-esque' look of Westfield, Caterham etc.

I saw one in the flesh yesterday - it came along to a Lotus 7 Owners Club gathering to watch the London to Brighton veteran car run. They are a fair bit bigger than a Caterham but with some neat touches - things like the indicators, mirrors and fuel filler are well integrated with the overall design rather than looking like afterthoughts. The whole car looks very low - the windscreen is not as tall and this gives it a slightly "squashed" appearance. Someone also told me how much it cost - £55,000 . I believe that they have the Audi TT engine fitted so should be pretty quick although they are probably a lot heavier than a Caterham.

Numptie,

Here is a nice picture of a Donkervoort:

In fact, could be that this one is for sale (in Holland I suspect) and if you could track it down, I'm sure the few minor repairs needed will not be beyond your practical skills.

Thanks George - that's a cracker !

BTW - I suspect Mr Hill may be home (Murray had a missed call on his mobile).

It is very expensive for what it is. One was tested in Auto Express against a Caterham and an Atom. The Donkervoort came last. It is MUCH heavier than a Caterham and so much less fun!
