T1R v Parada 2

Has anyone tried both the Toyo Proxes T1-R and Yokohama Parada Spec 2 on their '5?

I need two new tyres to get the '5 through the MOT, but as I don't like the P6000's that are on there at the moment, will change the whole set.

I can get four Parada 2's delivered for £138 plus fitting, or Toyo's at £130 plus fitting.

Both seem to get very good reviews, but haven't seen a one versus the other review or test.

My car is used 90% in the dry, is running standard suspension and these tyres will be doing two European tours this summer - one a run out with some other cars and the other a more gentle cruise to southern Italy, but via. some Swiss passes.

i know of one person who really didn't get on with the parada 2's on her mx5. as with most yoko's seemingly, i don't think they were up to much in the wet, and even dry grip wasn't that good, compared to f1's and proxes. i'd go for the T1R's personally, even tho i am not the biggest fan of V-groove tyres.

Have the Parada's and absolutely love them, but I cannot give you an accurate comparison.

Wet/cold grip can be, err, interesting but grip in the dry is brilliant.

Yes, they're noisy but the roof is always down so not bothered about that.

Of course, cracked record time, optimum geo setting is essential to get the best out of any tyre.

They seem to be liked by people who haven't tried GY F1 GSD3/Toyo T1R but not by those who have. I guess that means they are better than rubbish but not as good as the F1/T1R.

I had Parada Spec 2s on my old Rotas, and now run T1Rs. To be honest, I think they're very comparable, both give excellent dry grip, and both are pretty gash when cold/wet. I don't think you'd be disappointed with either.
