Hi - various threds in the past have dealt with this (do a search for fuel and/or petrol) - most tend to go for Shell Optimax/BP equivalent or superunleaded.
Just to add - tried out various options in the beginning - did used to run mine on valvemaster plus (castrol additive) then ran on 4 star as local garage still sold it (£££ ) - then adjusted for unleaded but with the addition of optimax to the pumps, changed and that's what its run on eversince without problems - having said all that they can run on unleaded anyway as per Nacnud .

I've never used LRP in mine. Super or Optimax if I can get it, but bog standard unleaded most of the time.
Hopefully others will confirm, but I believe the Rover V8 will take unleaded with no modifications, though maybe a tweak to the timing would be advisable
Been doing the same in mine for the last 6 years. Dont like LRP .. even smells funny
Use almost anything but LRP. The additives in LRP aren't of a high enough concentration to protect the valves and react with other additives such as Millers. Four star is the best but expensive and difficult to buy(currently at about the old five star rating of 101 RON.). Optimax is the next best and most widely recommended on this forum - 98 RON. The BP stuff is 97 RON and standard unleaded is 95 RON. Additives can add 2 to 3 RON. A slight adjustment to the timing is needed. All FI Rover V8s have hardened valve seats so you only need to worry about the RON value and detergents.

There's a TVR unleaded FAQ on my website. I agree with the LRP comments though.
