Hi folks,

I have a set of mirrors off a Cerbera and want to fit them on my Chimaera.

Now I know that the last 100 Griff had this mod...been told conflicting stuff...

i.e. initially told that the factory made an adapter which sat inside the original fixing recess in the door..this would be the easiest route for me...but cnnot find these stands - mounts whatever from anywhere.

.however have also been told (from a trustworthy source) that the LE Griff doors were actually different in design, meaning that to do this mod I would have to get both sides in my car repainted ...which puts the mod off the radar!

I have also been informed that there are some electrical mods I would need to do too..

I know this has been discussed previously ...thanks in advance.

Steve G.

p.s. I know this is is the Griff forum..just thought it more appropriate with the Griff 500LE link.

The Griffith LE had VW Corrado wing mirrors iirc.
Somebody, either on here or on the Griff pages did a how to guide for installing, maybe someone can post up a link for you.

Here you go

I also tried going down this route, even sourced some old VW mirrors. Couldn't get my hands on the conversion mounts or find anyone who would lend me a pair so I could try make moulds & copies..

It may be worth having a word with Julian @ Fibre-on, I can take a mould of the top of my mounts if he would do the bottom bit? TBH he might be able to do something better if a few people are interested, Jelly also wanted some IIRC.

The mirrors could do with being extended 10-15mm, and the way the mount sticks up above the door is not very attractive...

Thanks for this...funny enough I was over at Julians unit on Friday..and had run this scenario past him a few weeks beforehand...be great if you are willing to take a mould from yours..

I will b speaking to him in the morning so will mention it to him again..

Did someone say there was someone else who wanted to do this....it become more of a goer if we gat a few of us together?
