Was at a friend's tonight trying some different types of Venezuelian rums after dinner, but I had also taken a bottle of BenRiach 20yo. Not sure if it was due to interaction of the air within a half full bottle for a number of months, but there was a lot of apple and some citrus notes that I didn't remember from the last time I had some. Particularly the in the nose.

No decisions as yet mainly due to me having a manic Friday and not speaking to the people I was supposed to. Next week hopefully a decision will be made. As for the previous bottle I posted, there's only 2 of the 50 bottles left - we must live in a cringeworthy world
How long are you planning to keep it?Petrus1983 said:

I'd like to know how many are actually consumed!Blown2CV said:
I think we're more drinkers than investors, in the thread. Both together is fine though
I might be an example of this - the whisky below sold for about £80-100 when it was released:https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-2558.aspx
Personally, I have worked my way through a few bottles of the stuff, but have kept one in the stash as an investment. Worst case, if it was never worth anything I'd at least enjoy drinking it!!

Guilty - bought very quickly - drunk more slowly. And there is still one Snow Pheonix visible.
Just finished putting this lot up today but it still won't hold everything - odd single bottles from distilleries, plus blends / grains, bourbon and rum. Some other older shelving by the side for these. Where are the anticipated PH cask bottles going ?

Yep - sure Lefty beats me. Mine moves more slowly and lacks a good share of Glenglassaugh. Probably no surprise I beat him on Jura content
Spending down to a trickle now, like my drinking at present sadly.
Despite the bad photo - well done spotting Benromach. They can produce some good stuff - and some more variable - as with all distilleries / bottlers. Its all down to your taste as well. Don't forget they have the expertise of G&M behind them.
Ralfy Mitchell gave the 10yo his 2014 Whisky of the Year award recently if you want to check his 'vlog'.
The bottle at the front is an Origins Port Pipe - lovely - a recent repeat purchase and probably the last one available - unless you can track one down.
