Anyone signing up to try and get the Laphroaig 21yo? It seems to be a good approach in regards to the smaller bottles (more people able to taste it) and the ballot removes the servers crashing and spending ages hitting "F5".
Yes, I've entered the ballot, for 2 bottles, decided the max of 3 may be unrealistic, I'll be happy with just the one at the end of the day. I agree, a darned good idea, both in the application method , and the bottle sizing. A fairer spread of happiness. I bought tickets for the Friday of Whisky Fringe but am now nolonger able to go
This is an amazing event and it will be only the second time in 7 years that I will not be able to go.
I am looking to sell these at face value which is £30 each (this includes £10 off a bottle at Royal Mile Whiskies)
These tickets are for Whisky Fringe in Edinburgh on the 7th August, it is running 2pm-6pm
Let me know by PM if you are interested.

Got these hidden away at the back of my booze cupboard .....nothing special
The Penderyn is the Maderia finished one ... very nice indeed
Agree there. A short while ago at a blind tasting we had a dram of the Maderia - picked it out straight away. However, it was a new release for the French market and bottled at 40 - not 46. Whilst the base dram was easily identified - the end product had lost a lot of character. Poor old French. The Penderyn is the Maderia finished one ... very nice indeed
The Moch is a good drop too - and the Storm - I must buy another sometime.
I'm VERY sadly nearing the end of a bottle of Waitrose 'own brand' Whiskey. It's a 1981 distilled, 21 yr old single speyside that's been matured in port pipes.
It is bloody gorgeous, and I want to try and find if it exists in a 'branded' bottle.
It was bottled by WM Maxwell Ltd of Broxburn. I wondered if anyone had heard of these guys, or if they're linked to a distillery? Is the port pipes a signature of a particular brand?
I'd be very grateful for any leads you can provide, as I've not found any other whisky that comes close so far!
