Loosing Oil Caps

I have a MKV Gti, have gone through 3 oil caps and from Sunday need another, The locking part stays in place but the hand grip keeps falling off and I keep have to open it with a screwdriver.
Got one of those Audi R8 one's from awesome but that lasted 2 days (and looked sh"t).
Anybody have or know what this problem is caused by??

That's odd. I've got the 2.0 TFSi petrol Octavia (so same engine) and I've never had any issues with the locking oil cap.

Stupid question, but you're not overtightening the cap are you? It's the only thing I can think of that would cause the cap to come apart.

Don't think so,
It's a twist and lock thread so it does'nt over tighten like a jam jar!!
It's not a huge problem cus the oil is kept in, but just annoying without the hand grip!

Have you tried taking the cap back to the dealers where you purchased it from and asking for a replacement? The part is clearly unfit for purpose.
