My 97 P 500 has 205/45 16s on the front. However, all the printed stuff I can remember seeing (handbook, current spec on website) has the 500 wearing 225s. So, what's the deal. Should I be on 225s? Did the factory change things as they went along? I guess it might explain the alarmingly early arrival of understeer I've encountered once or twice...

205 without PAS, 225 with PAS.

I'm suprised that it's understeering though! The only time I've known a TVR to understeer is on ice or oil! Is there any tread on them ? Are the pressures OK ? Dr C

Ah! <Slaps forehead> I have no PAS (and strong arms!) so that explains the 205s. I think the roundabout was a bit greasier than I expected: it was, after all, right outside a service area. It was nice when they'd just put the tarmac on it though Then they actually opened the service area, and the surface went to hell.

So is that why my Chimp 500, no PAS, 225s on the front is such heavy going on the stearing - even with big forearms (don't even think about going there !)
