Whats it worth?
Discussion
May 08 08 Plate 335i Coupe, manual, sparkling graphite with black leather, 19" wheels, heated seats, USB audio, brushed aluminium trim and speaker upgrade. 4,000 miles and in absolutely mint condition. Have a feeling the dealers are going to offer me peanuts, but what should I be looking for as a trade in value or even private sale?
The only reason I am thinking of changing the car is that I am in the Army and posted in Germany so I can buy cars tax free. I picked up the 335i for just under £29k last June and have been given the same sort of price now for a replacement car. I understand that I will lose a fair chunk of money on the old car but the lure of a new car with a substantial discount is hard to overlook. All depends on how much it will cost me to change.
Oh and I have run both the 335i and the 335d in Coupe form for a year each and both cars have their good and bad points. The petrol is a lot smoother and sounds fantastic, the diesel is obviously more economical, but on my 4 mile commute to work there is only about 2 mpg in it. If I get a decent price for my car I will be going back to a diesel 335d Coupe but if I end up keeping my 335i I won't exactly be upset.

Cost of diesel being through the roof, the fact the i is quicker than the d, etc etc

You have _two_ mates? Are those your mates with the wandering eyes who were eyeing up the fit birds and didn't notice the red lights? Or were they just giving you a 1/8 mile sporting head start.
(Don't get upset, it's all tongue in cheek really.)
