I can remember my dad bought me a tint matchbox sized radio (I think it was an early Sinclir kit) for my birthday and I would listen to the pirate stations late into the night. Radio 1 started and I thought it was crap until Kenny Everitt, Johnny Walker & later John Peel joined. Looks a promising film........

Oh yes. Heard about it today and I am looking forward to watching that.

I had a friend who was involved with a pirate station called Green Apple in the late 80's / early 90's. I have fond memories of listening to his tales of woe, lugging loads of gear around in a tranny van, and hauling cables up trees in parks to get signal. They also had a mcirowave link so that when the 'station' got busted, all trading standards found was a big amplifer, a mast and half a microwave link. When the station stopped transmitting, they knew they had to move! laugh

These guys were sooooo switched on biggrin
