Help needed removing alfa-search!!

Hi folks. I am being driven daft, every time I fire up the internet the search engine defaults to alfa-search.etc (I have not listewd the .com business as I do not wish it to open a link) Basically it's a useless engine plus it sprinkles very unwanted favourites? throught the favourites list. I have deleted the favourites and have reset the "blank" default but every time i switch back on it has all returned. It seems very similar to a cool web search that has haunted p.c's recentley although I found a cool web shredder program that deleted this. Is such a program available for this current engine, is anyone else plageued with this? :totalyhackedoffwiththepc:

Go to www.downloads.com and look for spybot search and destroy. Download it using the prompts and run it after it's installed.

This should, I think, solve the problem. If it doesn't, it means you have to do something with the windows registry for which I'm unaware.

In the General Tab, change the Home Page, Use Current if you're on the page you want to start up. NOt sure if that answers your question.

Yes, sounds like your registry numbers have been changed. Goto the Microsoft site and visit the Windows forum. They'll be an explanation of how to change it there.
